Privacy Policy

• There are no accounts, no logins, and nothing to sign up for.
• We only receive personal information you deliberately send us — through the contact form or the TrentAI chat assistant.
• We use two analytics services to understand how the site is used. Neither is an advertising network.
• We do not sell, rent, or trade your information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.

The contact form collects three things: your name, your email address, and your message. When you submit it, that information is delivered as an email to trent@mcnitt.io through Resend, our email delivery provider. It is not written to a database or added to a mailing list.

We use it to reply to you and to carry on any conversation that follows. The form also includes a hidden anti-spam field that real visitors never see or fill in; if it is filled in, the submission is discarded.

TrentAI is an AI assistant built into this site. What you type is sent to our server and then to Anthropic’s Claude API, which generates the reply. Anthropic processes those messages as our service provider under its own terms.

• Conversations are not stored. There is no chat database. Your conversation lives in your browser’s memory for the length of your visit and is gone when you refresh or close the page.
• Leads you choose to send. If you give the assistant your name and email address and ask it to pass your project along, it emails that name, email, and a summary of what you described to trent@mcnitt.io. That only happens when you provide the details yourself.
• Rate limiting. Your IP address is used as a counter key to stop abuse of the assistant. Those counters are held in Upstash Redis and expire automatically — the longest window is one hour.

Please do not type sensitive personal information, credentials, or anyone else’s confidential information into the assistant.

Analytics only load on the live production site. Both services below help us understand which parts of the site are useful; neither is an ad network and neither is used to build an advertising profile of you.

• Umami — a self-hosted, cookie-free analytics tool running on our own infrastructure. It records aggregate page views, referrer, approximate location, device and browser type, and clicks on a handful of buttons. It does not track you across other websites.
• Microsoft Clarity — a third-party product that produces heatmaps and session replays of how visitors interact with this site (clicks, scrolling, mouse movement, pages viewed). Clarity sets its own cookies and processes the data under Microsoft’s privacy statement and retention schedule.

You can block either one with a browser privacy setting or a tracker blocker. The site works exactly the same without them.

The site is hosted on Vercel, which keeps standard server request logs (including IP address and browser user agent) as part of operating and securing the service.

These are the outside services involved, and why:

• Vercel — website hosting and server logs
• Anthropic — the Claude API that powers the TrentAI assistant
• Resend — delivery of contact form and lead emails
• Upstash — rate-limit counters for the assistant
• Microsoft Clarity and Umami — analytics, as described above

• We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information.
• We do not share your information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
• We do not run advertising pixels, retargeting tags, or ad networks on this site.
• We do not collect payment information through this website.
• We do not require or offer accounts, logins, or passwords.

This website does not ask for a phone number and does not sign anyone up for text messages.

If you give McNitt LLC a mobile number in the course of doing business, we use it only to communicate with you directly about that business. We do not sell mobile contact information, and we do not share mobile contact information or text-message consent with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing purposes.

Messages you send us stay in our email for as long as they are useful to the conversation or the business relationship. Rate-limit counters expire on their own within the hour. Analytics data is kept according to each provider’s retention schedule.

Email trent@mcnitt.io at any time to ask what you have sent us, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted, and we will take care of it. You can also block analytics at the browser level as described above.

This site is aimed at businesses and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us information, email trent@mcnitt.io and we will delete it.

If what the site does changes, this page changes with it and the “last updated” date at the top moves. There is no separate notification.
